Individual Therapy Services in La Jolla

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a safe and confidential space to process, grow, and heal. I work with a variety of clients, specializing in supporting adolescents and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and life changes.

I also work with student athletes to strengthen their mental performance and support them in managing challenges both in and out of their sport.

I take a person-centered approach, meeting each client where they are, while drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, sports psychology principles, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. My goal is to tailor therapy to each individual.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is used to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences and life events. EMDR engages client in Bilateral Stimulation primarily. Bilateral Stimulation is a mechanism that activates both sides of the brain, which allows for the processing of memories, emotions, and incidents that are stuck in the nervous system. EMDR aims to help clients reprocess traumatic memories, reduce their emotional intensity, and develop coping skills.
